Built for socialising, club events, and just enjoying yourself when not on your boat

A wide range of Club Events are held throughout the year both in the club house and on the river.
The Club was founded in 1976 and our club house enjoys a riverside location at MDL Marina (between Windsor and Bray).
Currently we have 200+ members. Each year the Commodore and the Committee organise a wide range of both club based events and cruises up and down river including some tidal cruises.
The club house, its amenities and our events are run by the membership providing opportunities for a wide variety of volunteer contributions.
Whatever the size of your boat, whether you are working or retired, a family or single you can be assured of a warm welcome.

ABOUT TWYC
TWYC was founded on the 29th February 1976. A meeting of all berth holders was called and 131 people attended. Some decided to form The Windsor Yacht Club - the aims of which were to go boating, exchange boating knowledge and hold social events to enjoy each others company.
Initially the club met and held functions in various halls in the vicinity until in February 1981 planning permission was granted for a clubhouse to be built on site at the marina. The clubhouse was finally finished in May 1982 - and since that time has seen various extensions and alterations, the latest addition being the very popular deck overlooking the Thames.
Today the club has 200+ members and whilst things have changed since its humble beginnings, the aims of the club remain the same.

A wide range of Club Events are held throughout the year both in the club house and on the river.

VHF Radio Course with DSC
However these courses will only be run if there is sufficient interest. If you are interested in any of the above, or other training courses, please contact Steve.
Steve and other experienced club members are always on hand to offer help and tuition to those members who are new to boating or those that wish to improve their skills. Again, please contact Steve for further information.
For those members interested in learning about other aspects of boat maintenance i.e. from electrics to welding, there is a very good web site run by Tony Brooks. The URL is www.tb-training.co.uk and here you can find details of all the courses that Tony is involved with and how to enroll. The site also has a very useful 'question and answer' section plus links to other useful boating sites.
