Charity Auction and Illuminated Cruise

Dear Members This morning Theresa and I presented Mary Hare School with a cheque for £10,192,the proceeds of the Charity Auction held in August. The school will arrange for the donation to be matched £ for £ by the Greenham Common Trust. A fantastic result and a big thank you to everyone who made this event such a success. We were given a tour of the school and met the Headmaster Mr. Peter Gale and some of the students. We were extremely proud to represent The Windsor Yacht Club and the School were very grateful for this substantial donation towards their Primary School Appeal. Full details, and photos, in the next edition of Channel 6. While we were at the school we caught up with Isabella. Those of you who were at the Auction will remember Isabella, the Mary Hare Student who came along with her parents to say a few words about the appeal. We had previously asked Isabella to judge the illuminated cruise and she was telling us just how much she was looking forward to the evening. However we have a slight problem, at the moment we only have two boats signed up for the illuminated cruise on Saturday 28th September. Come on TWYC we can do better than that! Let’s give Isabella a night to remember. There are trophies up for grabs for best new comer and best overall winner, followed by a fish and chip supper. Please dust off those fairy lights and join in the fun. Please let me know if you would like to sign up and let David know your fish and chip requirements at Kind Regards Robin Bartropp Commodore The Windsor Yacht Club
