This Weekends Charity Event

Dear Members Well what can I say, what a memorable weekend. The Summer party on Saturday evening saw over 90 members enjoying a tasty hog roast and dancing the night away to the sounds of Alan St John On Sunday we held the Annual Charity Auction in aid of the Mary Hare Primary School appeal. We held our breath wondering just how many Members would turn up but we needn’t have worried, you didn’t let us down, and by 12 noon the Clubhouse was full. My daughter Lucy, a teacher at the school and Isabella, one of her students came along to say a few words about the charity which is very close to our hearts. By the time we had showed a video made by the children of the Primary School there wasn’t a dry eye in the Clubhouse! A huge thank you to John Donovan for all his hard work, to all of the Members who donated items for the Auction and to everyone who came along yesterday and helped raise over £10,000!!!!!! We think this could possibly be a Club record. Thank you to all of the volunteers, far too many to mention, who worked tirelessly to make sure the weekend was a huge success. We couldn’t have done it without you. Robin Bartropp Commodore The Windsor Yacht Club
