Record Breaking Charity Auction 2016
Thank you so much for the generosity of everyone who donated items and pledges for our Charity Auction yesterday and thank you too for everyone who came and who bought items or donated money to our very worthy charity this year, The Dyspraxia Foundation. With John Donovan doing an amazing job as our star auctioneer, ably assisted by Jayne Law, and with Pat, Janet and Kate doing a brilliant job keeping track of all the winning bids, we raised an incredible and record-breaking £7,620 (subject to final reconciliation) - with the benefit of Gift Aid which the Club is facilitating, this should be equivalent to over £9,100 for the Dyspraxia Foundation. Wow!!!
I want to say a huge personal thank you to everyone who contributed to making this our best ever Charity Auction!
The Chair and Vice Chair of The Dyspraxia Foundation (Michele and Sophie) came to the Auction to explain the work they do in supporting people with the motor co-ordination disorder of Dyspraxia. Michele has emailed me to express her thanks to everyone:
"On behalf of the whole Dyspraxia Foundation, Sophie and I would like to say a huge thank you to you and all your members for such a wonderful day yesterday and also for being able to raise so much money for the Dyspraxia Foundation. Your generosity has touched us all and we are deeply grateful. The money will enable us to continue our much needed work in raising awareness and ensuring that those with the condition get the support and help that they so desperately need. Sophie and I would like to thank you for being made so welcome and for the lovely lunch. Please send our sincere thanks to everyone."
I am bowled over by being part of such an amazing Club - thank you all!!
