A Message from our Commodore
Linda and I wish to send our personal thanks to everyone who made last weekend’s events such a huge success.
The Commodores party was amazing, 90 members enjoyed a fantastic meal prepared by Jayne Law and Dawn Browne ably assisted by Maggie and Theresa with many others in the galley.
In the evening we were entertained by Bob James, JD and Andy Stevens until the early hours. It was a great party.
The list of Committee members and member volunteers who helped out over the entire weekend is endless so a huge thank you to everyone involved.
The sail past was a wonderful day made all the better by the fantastic weather.
25 boats dressed overall, crammed to the gunnels with well over 100 members and guests raising their glasses and dipping the boats ensign as they sailed line astern passed KAHLUA and the club house on the stroke of midday. Additionally other members viewed the spectacle from the club’s decking.
It was a truly humbling and emotional sight that managed to bring a tear to both of us.
The jazz band playing on decking outside the club helped to make the day perfect.
A personal thank you to Terry and Lorraine who put so much effort in to the planning and preparation of every event, to Martin who managed the sail past in the most professional manner, to everyone who helped over the weekend, to all of our members and guests who made the wonderful effort to come and support the club and to the many members who were unable to attend due to other commitments but took the time to write some lovely letters to both Linda and me.
We truly belong to the best boat club on the Thames; it is you the members who make it so successful.
Vince and Linda
