A Message from TWYC Commodore
Good morning everyone
Happy new year to you all.
Well The Windsor Yacht Club has got off to a fantastic start in 2015 as around 70 members attended the London Pub night event on Saturday evening and it was a huge success. We thoroughly enjoyed a four course dinner consisting of platters of a variety of seafood freshly brought in from Billingsgate market, followed by toad in the hole, homemade sticky sultana pudding with custard, fresh fruit salad, cheese & biscuits and coffee. Well done to Lorraine, Elaine and all the helpers who worked so hard to make the evening so successful and everyone else who really got into the spirit of the evening! The talented musicians who entertained us with a selection of music from the old London songs to Status Quo, Dire Straits and Santana, got everyone singing and dancing til midnight. There will be a full article in next Channel 6 and hopefuly some photographs
We have a full programme of forthcoming events :

May I respectfully remind all members of the booking and cancellation policy introduced last year whereby members who cancel within 2 weeks of an event may be asked to pay for their tickets unless their spaces can be reallocated by the Vice Commodore.
Further to Kate’s recent email regarding Training, , I am delighted to confirm that Terry, Vice Commodore has arranged two VHF courses to take place in the next few weeks and members are already committed to attend these courses.
The Committee are considering whether it is viable to run other training courses at TWYC this year ie Diesel engine, ICC and basic navigation/day skipper. This will obviously depend on the amount of interest in what is being proposed. Once we have an indication as to the level of interest further details will follow. Please email Kate asap at firstname.lastname@example.org if you are interested in any of these courses.
We have a full cruising programme this year. Please visit the clubhouse to add your name and details to the appropriate lists if you would like to take part. Cruising in company is always good fun and a great way to make new friends.
ATYC Dinner: (Association of Thames Yacht Clubs):
The ATYC Dinner Dance is being held on Sat 7 March at Crowne Plaza, Marlow. Tickets £39.50. You are all welcome so please come along to represent The Windsor Yacht Club and have a very enjoyable evening. I have attached a further copy of the menu and booking form which needs to be returned with your cheque to Steve Whybrow, Hon Treasurer no later than 7 February.
Kindest regards and Linda and I look forward to seeing you at the clubhouse over the coming weeks.
