Annual Charity Auction

Although it may seem a while away yet, can I ask you all to turn your thoughts to this year’s charity auction which will be held at the club on Sunday 17th July.

Each year the Commodore choses a charity to raise funds for. This year I have chosen the Fountain Centre in Guildford.

The Fountain Centre is a small independent charity located at the Royal Surrey Hospital. Its aim is to provide holistic and emotional, information and signposting both on line and face to face to as many patients and families as possible.

They understand that a cancer diagnosis impacts not just the patient but those close to them as well. That’s why they offer support and help to both patients and their loved ones for as long as it is needed.

St Luke’s Hospital which is the cancer wing of The Royal Surrey hospital treats patients young and old including children with many different kinds of Cancer in Surrey Sussex and  Berkshire . The Fountain Centre likewise looks after these cancer patients from a number of Counties in the South East as well as  providing therapists to work in private hospitals in Guildford, Winchester, Windsor and Goring

This Charity Lynn and I had first-hand experience of  the wonderful work they do when we faced our own cancer experience.

Please donate what you can and come along to the auction our auctioneer John Donavan is tasked with selling you something you didn’t know you didn’t need. It’s one of the highlights of our program.Dress Code: Casual
